We develop innovative consumer-centric product solutions and as a Lab126 Engineer you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and bring to market innovative consumer products. The Role:
As part of the Wireless team, your primary responsibility will be the integration of baseband circuits into Lab126 products. This may include the development and optimization of various wireless solutions including 802.11, CDMA, UMTS and Bluetooth.

The Candidate:
This candidate will have a background in baseband design for portable or embedded wireless devices; experience integrating wireless chipsets from leading vendors such as Qualcomm, Freescale, Broadcom or TI into CDMA or GSM / UMTS devices. Experience with other wireless technologies, such as 802.11 or GPS and associated chipsets is also desirable. The candidate should be familiar with many if not most of the following design areas: audio circuits, power and battery management, power conversion, high speed design, serial bus and display interfaces. The candidate should also have experience with integration challenges, such as ESD, electro-magnetic interference, and device certification with wireless network carriers.

As elements of your daily work, you will:

Meet with vendors and technology suppliers to select solutions and components

Develop wireless solutions for Lab126, potentially including CDMA, UMTS, 802.11 and Bluetooth

Implement, Validate and Optimize the wireless hardware

Support the manufacturing and testing of the product

Support sustaining issues such as finding and qualifying dual source components

Work with Software, mechanical design, system EE and compliance teams

Required Experience:

5 years experience in baseband design or similar relevant experience

Schematic capture and layout expertise

Experience developing 802.11, GSM, CDMA or UMTS in wireless handsets or similar applications

DFM and high volume manufacturing experience highly desired

Methodical & scientific test and measurement approach

Strong analytical skills

Adept with MS Office including Excel

Education:
Bachelor’s degree with technical focus, Masters Degree Preferred
This position will require international travel.
