Title: Battery System Engineer

Lab126 develops innovative consumer-centric product solutions. As an Engineer at Lab126 you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and bring to market innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

As elements of your daily work, you will:

• Define a battery roadmap & strategy for our products
• Create Battery Specifications
• Work with System and Product Design to define proper capacity/ mechanical outline
• Test and Qualify new battery packs and report results to team members
• Work with Software Engineers to develop and test proper charging algorithms
• Test Battery in System operation and confirm performance throughout operating range
• Perform battery discharge and lifecycle tests
• Work with Safety Engineering for battery compliance and IEEE 1725 certification

Required Experience:

• 5+ years hardware design experience as EE on portable consumer electronic devices
• Experience with LiIon and Li Polymer cells and chemistry
• Experience with testing and qualifying battery packs
• Experience with CTIA/IEEE 1725 qualifications
• Strong analytical skills including basic statistical analysis

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a natural ability and excitement for electronics, engineering, computing and technology. Positive thinking, creativity and teamwork are essential. Cell phone battery experience or other consumer battery products required

Education:
Bachelor’s degree with technical focus

Travel:
This position may require international travel.
