Lab126 an Amazon.com company, is an innovative consumer-focused company located in Cupertino, CA. The Director Operations reports to the Vice President Operations and Supply Chain. The Director will be responsible for defining and implementing new product processes, test processes, quality and reliability assurance processes, technical data collection and analysis programs. The Director is also responsible for managing the manufacturing partners in terms of insuring compliance with quality standards. The Director implements systems that collect and analyze reliability information for the installed base.
Responsibilities:
- Hire and manage a global Operation team to meet the needs of the expanding business landscape.
- Manage contract manufacturers to ensure quality, productivity and the delivery of products in line with demand.
- Ensure supply is available in geography to fulfill all customer purchase orders on schedule.
- Work with the product marketing team to maintain a production forecast for up to 12 months.
- Drive COGS focused cost reductions with the OEM partners to reduce overall product cost.
- Set goals and metrics to track the progress of the manufacturing team.
- Insure that new products are launched with appropriate qualification, documentation and delivered on schedule.
- Define quality, test and reliability requirements and metrics to insure compliance standards of all products.
- Work with Engineering and other departments to ensure the PLM system including ECR/ECO process is correctly implemented and adhered to.
- Work with Engineering, Customer Support and Service team to ensure customer satisfaction and quality.
- Drive the manufacturing partners to understand and implement lean manufacturing practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline or the equivalent experience.
- 10+ years management Global operations and supply chain experience in a hardware volume manufacturing environment including 8+ years management experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, vendor or systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing test development.
- Experience with the ECO process at a technology oriented company.
- Results driven, highly motivated individual with hands on technical ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
