The Role:
NPI Program Management is the overall Operations owner for successfully introducing new products into Lab126 production facilities. The team's mission is to provide Operations leadership for new product development, to reduce time-to-market by accelerating process/product maturity, and to make appropriate time-to-market, quality, cost and feature trade-offs.
As a New Products Operations Program Manager for Lab126, you will be responsible for the Kindle operations schedule, product availability, and supply chain design in support of the program’s business objectives. Also you will be a key member of the development team and will be the main interface between the hardware and software engineering teams with the operations teams within Lab126 and our OEM partners. You will interface regularly with both internal and external resources in a project management role.
Responsibilities:
- Operations overall owner for new hardware products by representing all Operations issues into cross-functional Product Development Core Team and communicating status/issues/deliverables into the Operations organization.
- Leads Operations team to develop, manage and deliver on all Operations development milestones and checklist items. Leads development phase checkpoint discussions and activities. Ensures product will meet / exceed product cost and quality goals.
- Is the focal point/coordinator for pre-production and ramp builds. Coordinates availability of material, equipment and factory personnel to support Engineering teams throughout the build cycle.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of capacity and ramp plans in support of overall product introduction. Oversees handoff from NPI to Sustaining Operations.
Qualifications:
- BA / BS (or equivalent). Advanced Technical or Business degree, highly desirable.
- 8-10 years experience in manufacturing / operations environment with involving NPI activities including a broad exposure to most / all operations disciplines: Program Management, Materials, Planning, Mfg & Test, Supply Chain, Supply Base Management, Contract Manufacturing operations
- 2-4 years experience as a Program Manager, candidate must have proven ability to manage multiple or highly complex programs while assisting in process development
