The Role:
The Lab126 Supply Base Manager (SBM) is responsible for the management and overall definition and delivery of the supplier strategies for a groundbreaking, highly integrated consumer product. This person is responsible for development and improvement of our global supply chain, implementation of world class supply chain processes in support of customer’s volume and quality requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements best in class supply chain strategies for key commodities.
- Experienced with business and manufacturing processes for key components and sub-assembly products (including virtual manufacturing models).
- Work closely with the Engineering team to support product development and guidance in supplier selection, short and long term product availability and design for cost initiatives.
- Drive sustaining product cost reduction programs with our OEM partner and key component suppliers to ensure cost targets are achieved.
- Proactively communicates with global supply base to set and drive all levels of supplier performance.
- Effectively leverage our international team and global manufacturing partners.
- Manages all elements of EOL including notification and management.
Qualifications:
The SBM candidate should have a minimum 5-7 years experience in the business procurement organization of a fast moving consumer market or high volume hardware manufacturing company including a minimum of 5 years working experience with OEM’s manufacturers.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively to management, peers, and team members.
- Good problem solving skills, analytical ability, time management capability, project management competence.
- Ability to execute tasks and projects under minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of MRP systems.
- Qualitative and Quantitative analytical skills.
- Provide ongoing market analysis on supply and pricing.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
- Ability to effectively to lead a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage in a resource constrained environment.
- A keen, flexible and aggressive intellect with superb conceptual thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of mobile technologies, products and tools preferable
- Self-driven with a good sense of humor
Skills/Experience:
- Strong background in procurement practices managing integrated circuit suppliers that provide standard and application specific products
- Excellent analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Highly organized
- Manage internal and external team communications, be able to prioritize tasks, and maximize internal resources. This individual needs to have a demonstrated track record of individual success and effective team leadership in defining requirements and driving these across diverse organizations.
Travel:
International travel is required approx. 25-30%
Education:
Bachelor degree or MBA with a combined technical and supply chain, purchasing or operations background and/or related experience.
