Lab126 has an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). You will need to be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fun, fast-paced dynamic team environment. As a SDET at the Lab126, you will develop, execute and maintain software to test the Amazon’s revolutionary wireless reading device the Amazon Kindle. SDETs are expected to have industry-leading technical abilities that enable them to significantly improve product quality. You should have a combination of solid in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance, solid understanding of the Operating System software, as well as knowledge of object oriented design principles.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Qualified candidates will need to programmatically test the product, measure test coverage, develop the best automation, drive testability and diagnostic ability into the product, while promoting best practices in quality areas. The test software you will build should expose API defects in production level code as well as defects at the component and feature integration prospective. You should command the skill to communicate clearly and effectively. Candidates will need to define test plans, test specifications, test suites, test cases as well as design tools for unit, functional and performance testing in a programmatic manner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent yeas of experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• An outstanding track record in Quality Assurance.
• Experience with embedded systems.
• At least 5 years of experience would be a good overall fit for this role, which may be composed of at least 2 years as a developer and 3 years as a QA Engineer, or 5 years as an SDET.
• At least 3 years of expertise in Java or C development or hands-on white box in Java or C
• Proficient in the C, python, shell, and java.
• Strong knowledge and experience writing code to test the Linux Operating system, specifically an in depth understanding of the real time kernel, power management, scheduler, memory management, inter-process communication, and driver model.
• Experience testing the kernel, kernel subsystems, and user space applications.
• Experience with open source test tools for example but not limited to LTP, GCOV, and Bonnie.
• Experience with Make files and Ant build scripts.
• API automation testing including working experience with unit test automation frameworks.
• Familiar with the Eclipse IDE and Subversion.
• Customer-focused, ability to triage issues, react well to changes, work with teams and ability to multi-task on multiple products and projects.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills.

• Experience with JUnit, mock objects.
• Experience with AntHill Pro.
• Experience with Cobertura.
• Experence with JDepends.
