As an Engineer at Lab126 you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and bring to market innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

The Role:

The Senior EE is the lead EE engineer on a project execution team. You will be responsible for the schematic and PCB design based on the lab126 reference platform. On top of this the EE Lead also acts as system integrator, leading the cross functional engineering team through the development process. You will be responsible for the overall HW performance including audio, RF, power, display, etc; as well as leading the team through all the usual integration challenges – ESD, EMC, antenna performance, etc.

The Candidate:

This candidate will be an experienced design engineer, with a proven track record of delivering battery powered consumer electronic devices. System, analog and digital design experience required. Experience with audio, LCD, power management a plus.

As elements of your daily work, you will:

• Lead a weekly engineering meeting
• Perform schematic design and work with the CAD team on PCB layout
• Manage the eBOM within the PLM system
• Drive the team through the concept / design / optimize & validate phases of a project
• Work with SW teams on device bring-up and development
• Work with the PD team on mechanical integration
• Work with the ops team on manufacturing test development
• Travel to china to support engineering builds
• Be accountable for delivering on schedule and meeting the performance, features and quality requirements for the project

Required Experience:

• 5+ year’s hardware design experience as EE on portable consumer electronic devices
• Proficient with digital embedded systems and analog design
• Expert at bring-up, debug, validation and optimization of systems
• Design for Cost and Design for Manufacture experience
• Schematic capture and PCB layout
• Success in bringing products to market
• Strong analytical skills including basic statistical analysis
• Adept with MS office including excel
• Familiar with compliance standards such as FCC, EMC, ESD, 3GPP, CDG
• Management or team lead experience

Education:

Bachelors degree with technical focus. Masters Degree Preferred.
