You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

The Role:

Lab126 is looking for a talented Product Manager or Senior Product Manager to join the Kindle Product Management team. This person is responsible for the overall definition and market delivery of our embedded software roadmap. We are looking for someone that is smart, customer-focused, mobile technology savvy, and preferably has a passion for reading. This person is business-oriented and is responsible for the development and implementation of the product plan. S/he is the voice of the customer to the Lab126 team and is responsible for capturing, documenting, and communicating the needs of the customer and is involved throughout all stages of the product family's lifecycle.

As elements of your daily work, you will:

• Work closely with the engineering team to define and provide high-level market and product requirements for the product
• Combine tactical roadmaps and customer requirements into a compelling product and evangelize that vision within the organization
• Create and maintain the business case and market requirements document
• Help determine and drive buy/build/partner solutions for components as necessary
• Help define marketing and go-to-market plans
• Help position the product for all markets/customers including collateral and sales materials
• Document market and customer issues
• Seek new market opportunities

Skills/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the consumer market, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, be highly organized, manage internal and external team communications, be able to prioritize tasks, and maximize internal resources. S/he needs to have the ability to keep up to date on new and competitive technologies and must have a demonstrated track record of individual and managerial success and effective team leadership in defining requirements and driving these across diverse organizations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum five years experience in product management
• Demonstrated experience shipping commercially successful products to consumer market segments
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to senior management, peers, team members, customers, press, and the analyst community
• A keen, flexible and aggressive intellect with superb conceptual thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of mobile technologies, products and tools
• Self-driven with a good sense of humor

Education:

Bachelor degree with a technical discipline required. MBA or advanced technical degree desired.
