Lab126 is looking for a highly motivated QA Engineer with consumer electronics performance testing expertise to join the team of hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated and seasoned QA professionals. You'll work in a small-company environment, but have access to the resources of Amazon.com, one of the world's leading Internet companies.
Responsibilities:
- Execution of performance testing in all aspects of the device, including user interface, hardware/software integration, and key product metrics.
- Operate test equipment and update/improve on test setup.
- Develop new tests to measure and track the health of critical usability areas.
- Interpret and report testing results with a focus on perceived user experience.
- Triaging reports of product performance issues, and isolate problems.
- Work with Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented.
- Work with groups such as Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that quantify real-world environments.
Skills:
- Expertise in wireless consumer electronics product testing methodologies.
- Significant experience in statistical measurement and quantitative research methods.
- Ability to understand and articulate technical issues to wide audience.
- Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings.
- Extensive knowledge of black box and grey box functional and performance testing methodologies.
- Familiar with standard testing and development tools.
- Strong organizational skills, tracking multiple test executions simultaneously and be able to synthesize the results.
- Shows creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness.
Experience:
- Four or more years of software QA testing experience on wireless consumer electronics products.
- Domain expertise in statistics and quantitative testing – experience with automated performance testing and data analysis tools preferred.
- Experience in hardware/software integration testing, including power management and battery life measurement.
- BS / BA degree in CS, CE, EE or equivalent.
