As an Sustaining Software Engineer at Lab126 you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and bring to market innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

The Role:

As a Software Sustaining Engineer, you will work on a team to analyze, identify, and correct device issues coming from both the field and through the return channels. You will work closely with multiple technical teams, including software, hardware, and operations.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for identifying the root causes of the problems and working closely with the development teams to identify the right fix to the problems based on impact and urgency. You will also be responsible for making sure the fixes are properly integrated in upcoming releases and products, making sure that fixes receive the adequate amount of testing, and assisting in developing engineering processes to help improve quality issues.

Qualifications:

• At least five years of experience working in a hardware/software environment, with a strong understanding of Linux kernel and driver model
• Experience performing sustaining engineering work, with the ability to resolve a variety of technical issues
• Ability to troubleshoot and fix problems in an embedded software environment (embedded Linux experience preferred)
• Strong integration and debugging skills, with a methodical approach to software engineering
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Masters Degree a plus
